NEW FREEDOM, Pa. — The American Superbike Racing Association (ASRA) today announced the appointment of Bruce Barry as Midwest Region Race Director.
Barry, a longtime presence in Midwest sportbike racing, will oversee race operations for ASRA’s Midwest events, with a focus on rider safety, consistent race-day execution, and the competitor experience at venues including Blackhawk Farms Raceway, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, and other regional stops on the ASRA calendar.
As Race Director, Barry will work with ASRA staff, officials, and track partners to deliver well-run weekends for Amateur and Expert riders, support new-racer programs, and help keep the Midwest series competitive and accessible.
“Bruce knows this region from the grid and the paddock,” said Chris LaBuguen, ASRA Partner. “He understands what Midwest riders need on race weekend—clear communication, fair officiating, and events that respect both the veterans and the people just earning their licenses. We’re glad to have him leading the Midwest Region.”
Barry said: “The Midwest has always been home for me in this sport. I’m honored to take on this role with ASRA and to serve the same community that made racing here what it is. My priority is safe, well-run events that riders want to come back to—and a series that keeps growing the next generation of Midwest racers.”
The 2026 Midwest Region Awards Banquet date and the 2027 Midwest season schedule will be announced at asraracing.com and on ASRA’s social channels.
