ASRA and BRL Expand Premier National Platform, Launch ASRA/BRL National Championship in 2027
Partnership creates first combined national championship; 2027 schedule released, with new sport-bike cost-containment programs to follow
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio, (Oct. 8, 2026) — The American Superbike Racing Association (ASRA) and Bagger Racing League (BRL) announced today that they will expand their national motorcycle road racing platform in 2027 under a new banner: the ASRA/BRL National Championship. The ASRA/BRL National Championship will kick off at the CMP Motorsports Park in South Carolina and conclude at Daytona International Speedway in Florida.
The championship brings two established racing programs to one national stage. ASRA contributes its superbike, production, sprint and endurance competitions. BRL brings performance V-twin racing to the same weekends, giving sport bikes and V-twin racers a national championship in front of a growing road racing audience.
“ASRA/BRL have been working toward building a national championship in the road racing world,” said Alex Spellman, an ASRA partner. “The ASRA/BRL National Championship is the next step.”
“The BRL has taken another big step in expanding its footprint across the United States,” said BRL founder Rob Buydos. “Collaborating with ASRA gives racers and fans a true national championship to contend for in front of a large, passionate road racing audience.”
The ASRA/BRL National Championship aims to:
Position ASRA and BRL as premier national championship organizations.
Give competitors more opportunities to race at iconic U.S. circuits under one championship.
Introduce opportunities and cost-containment programs for all racers.
Deliver a more comprehensive experience for spectators, sponsors and media, including livestreamed events.
Reach a nationwide audience beyond the track.
